Cropital FAQ

Getting Started

Making an Account

Is there a minimum age for me to invest and support farms?

Yes! The minimum age to invest is 18 years old.

Is there a minimum investment amount?

There is a Php 5,000 minimum for investment.

Can we invest from overseas?

Yes! In fact, many Filipinos working abroad who share the vision of Cropital in shaping the Philippine agricultural sector have supported farms through the platform. However, one caveat is that you will need a bank account in the Philippines to fund your Cropital wallet. For more information on how to add funds on your Cropital wallet, please visit our Add Funds to Wallet page.

Without a bank account in the Philippines, it will be difficult to move your funds around. If you do not have this, we advise not to invest just yet!

Do I need to verify my account?

Account Verification is how we ensure that your account is secure and is a necessary step in order to withdraw funds from your Cropital wallet. Learn more about how to verify your account by going to cropital.com/user/me/verify.

Rest assured that the information you provide during this process will not be shared. Cropital will not disclose any user information including, but not limited to, user name, email address, contact number/s, and any other account information as part of our Privacy Policy which is governed by the Data Privacy Act of 2012.

Adding to your Wallet

What is a Cropital Wallet?

You want to support a farmer? That's great! In order to successfully invest in your chosen farmer, you need to have enough funds in your Cropital wallet to make an investment. Otherwise, your support will only be a pledge until you have added enough funds to your wallet.

How do I add money to my Cropital wallet?

There are multiple ways to make your payment so you can invest:

  • Top Up with Online Banking — Debit from your account by transferring funds from any of the following banks: BPI, BDO, Chinabank, Landbank, Metrobank, Maybank, PSBank, RCBC, Unionbank, RobinsonsBank, Bank of Commerce, UCPB
  • Top Up from your E-Money (PayMaya, GrabPay, Coins.ph) — Transfer funds from your mobile money. No extra charges!
  • Top Up over-the-counter (OTC) — Make OTC payments with selected banks and the following non-bank channels: Bayad Center, Cebuana Lhuillier Bills Payment, LBC, M. Lhuillier, Palawan Pawnshop, RD Pawnshop, Robinsons Department Store, any SM Department/Supermarket/Savemore Counter.
  • Fund with Bitcoin — See how to invest using bitcoin.

All top up transactions are facilitated by third-party payment portals that have service fees. Online banking, e-money, and OTC transactions have a flat service fee of PHP 20 regardless of investment amount. Bitcoin transactions have a 0.8% service fee.

You can be sure that your payment was successful if you receive a Payment Confirmation email in your registered Cropital email address from Dragonpay as well as an email from us that money has been credited to your account. You can also check your dashboard to view the total funds added to your wallet.

How can I track the transactions of my Cropital wallet?

You can check your wallet balance and wallet transactions by logging into your profile page. Log-in to your account and access your profile page at cropital.com/user/me or by clicking the button with your name on the top of the page.

I tried to top-up with Dragonpay and it didn't appear on my wallet.

If the money was deducted from your account and did not appear in your Cropital wallet within the day, please get in touch with Dragonpay to report the issue.

How do I withdraw funds from my wallet?

First things first! Is your account verified? If not, please make sure that your account is verified. Unverified accounts will not be allowed to withdraw their funds.

Now you can withdraw by submitting a Withdrawal Request. When you submit a request, you will be asked to provide the following:

  • Total amount you wish to withdraw
  • Your bank account details: preferred bank, account name, and account number
Please note that transfers are limited to the following banks: BPI, BDO, Unionbank.

Once your request has been submitted, please wait for approval and transfer.

How long until I get my funds in my actual bank account?

Once your withdrawal request has been approved, it will be queued for processing. After which, you will receive your money in your requested bank account in 5-7 business days.

Are there fees involved when I withdraw my money?

Cropital does not charge withdrawal fees.

Pledges & Investments

What are farm pledges?

Farm Pledges are promises to help. These stand as placeholders that mean you want to help these farms out but it does not mean you have invested in a farm. When you choose a farmer but don't have enough funds, it automatically becomes a pledge. Your pledge will be converted into an investment once you successfully add funds to your wallet.

Farm pledges are on a first-come, first-served basis (based on payment confirmation) and never expire. However, if a farm is fully-funded before you can add funds to your wallet, your pledge is cancelled. Don't fret though! The money that was not invested will stay in your Cropital wallet and you can use these funds to invest in other farms in the platform.

To view your wallet balance, kindly visit your profile page at cropital.com/user/me.

What is the difference between farm pledges and investments?

A pledge is basically a promise that when you have enough in your Cropital wallet, it will go to the farm you have pledged to as an investment. If a farm is fully funded before your wallet is funded, the pledge is automatically cancelled.

What are the fees in investing?

We charge a 5% service charge per investment. This means that for every PHP 5,000 placed on the platform, PHP 4,750 is invested on your chosen farmer and PHP 250 is used to help us keep the platform going.
